One of my favorite medals (if not my favorite) is a simple miraculous medal.  The Virgin Mary designed the medal herself!!!!!   This is a beautiful one.  The medal measures about 1/8" in length (NOT including its loop or attach ring).  

The medal has the french silver hallmark which indicates a silver content of at least 800 or 80% silver.

The chain is NEW sterling silver in a "wheat" chain design.  It measures about 18 inches in length.

Comes in a gift box.

The Promises of the Miraculous Medal

During Our Lady's visit to Catherine on November 27,1830, rays of light flowed from rings on her fingers that were made of precious stones. However, some of the stones on the ring did not shine. Mary explained:

"These rays symbolize the graces I shed upon those who ask for them. The gems from which rays do not fall are the graces for which souls forget to ask."

Mary then spoke of the medal with these words:

"All who wear it will receive great graces; they should wear it around the neck. Graces will abound for persons who wear it with confidence."
