This is a small, lovely, antique, glass and silver miraculous medal.  Wonderful old green glass stones surround the image of the Virgin Mary.  Brighter green than how it is coming through in the photos.

NOTE:  The glass in the back of the medal does have a horizontal crack.

SMALLER SIZE - The medal measures between 5/8" and 3/4" in length including its loop, but not including the attach ring.

The medal has the french silver hallmark which indicates a silver fineness of at least 800 or 80% silver.

Comes in a gift box.

The Promises of the Miraculous Medal

During Our Lady's visit to Catherine on November 27,1830, rays of light flowed from rings on her fingers that were made of precious stones. However, some of the stones on the ring did not shine. Mary explained:

"These rays symbolize the graces I shed upon those who ask for them. The gems from which rays do not fall are the graces for which souls forget to ask."

Mary then spoke of the medal with these words:

"All who wear it will receive great graces; they should wear it around the neck. Graces will abound for persons who wear it with confidence."
