This antique french silver medal of the Virgin Mary is suspended from a vintage, french silver chain and vintage french clasp (I think gold over brass with wear to the gold finish).
The medal is thick and from the late 1800s. These type medals usually were engraved on the reverse side around the edge - but this one is not etched or engraved.
The vintage silver (thicker/heavier) chain measures over 25 inches in length. No clasp - simply slip over head.
The medal has the french silver hallmark indicating a silver content of at least 800 or 80% silver.
Comes in a gift box.
