Petite Antique French Silver Holy Communion Necklace, Antique French Silver Medal by Frederic Vernon

This is a small but beautiful antique french silver medal by Frédéric Vernon.  It measures just over 1/2 inch in diameter.  The medal is on an antique french silver chain which measures about 17 1/2 inches in length.

(NOTE:  Frédéric-Charles Victor de Vernon, was a sculptor and engraver of French medals (died 1912).  I have only ever seen a few religious designs, but what I have seen are stunning - If you google him, you can see some of the Virgin Mary medals that are done in gold, pearls and precious stones - amazing!!)
